Why aren't my categories appearing?

I created three categories for my site: http://edenoftheeast.forumotion.com/forum.htm

However, they aren't appearing as bars above their respective forums, like it does in this one: http://theholdersroleplay.forumotion.com/forum.htm

I messed around in the category and forum panels, but whatever I do, I can't seem to get them to appear. They should appear as "General Discussion," "Roleplay - Japan," and "Character Information."

To make a category appear, it must contain at least one forum. Categories are meant to classify your forums by main subject, not to directly contain posts. So, if you want to classify your forums, you have to attach them to the categories, and this can be done by editing each forum.

I did this, but it still doesn't seem to be working. When I go into the forums under each category, it lists them properly at the top, like so:

Eden of the East :: Roleplay - Japan :: Public Announcements

However, the "Roleplay - Japan" bar simply doesn't appear at all on the main site.

This comes from your hierarchy settings.

Go to your admin panel > Display > Structure and Hierarchy > choose "Split categories on index" > Medium

Then you validate.

That's the setting I have on my test board, you'll see the categories are visible.
