Topic Splitting

Okay, I searched any possible keyword and didnt see any topic that covered my specific question.

I know that there is no way to prevent the threads from auto-splitting at 990 posts.

My question is:

Is there a way to make it to where the ORIGINAL first post of the original thread stays in these newly split topics?

I have a couple of members that are frustrated that they have to go back to this locked topic to get some info out of the first post, as on some of our threads we compile information in the first post.

I clicked that but that shows the first message on EVERY page. I dont want that. I just want the first message to be copied, in a sense, onto the new split thread if that's at all possible, like the OP to be copied as the new OP of the new thread.

any other suggestions? or am I just basically S.O.L on this...

No way to do that unfortunately...you could always suggest it though.
