New members not going to "Members Group"

I wonder why I´ve had to manually add new members joining today to the "Members Group"

I checked my settings and everything seems to be fine but I need your help in case I am wrong.

You always have to manually approve users who join groups, its always been like that if im not mistaken.

Correct you have to add them to the group.
