Solved Cannot delete inactive member

Post by angelicq 12/10/2009, 04:26

Hello. I'm trying to delete an inactive member from my forum, but it gives me an error stating:

" General Error

Could not select all users private messages "

I think this user has no private message but just in case, I set the PM's to 0. This member was also deemed nonactive and was sent non-active emails to log in, but hasn't done so.

I tried to delete from modifying the profile as well as deleting from the inactive users menu. I have tried deleting 4 times and I got three messages sent to my email stating the user has been deleted from my forum, but when i went to check, the user is still in the system.

Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

This is odd. It might be due to server problems.

There goes a wild one, but you might want to try it.

Go to User Options. There, tic yes in "Allow members to unsubscribe"
Now, access the users profile via your admin panel and change the password. Enter with the password and unsubscribe.

Good Luck.

My forum has been re-synchronized three times and it still didn't work. Here is the link to it. WGC Forum

It was already on that option, so I just tried to change the password on the inactiave user's account. The change said it updated successfully but when I tried to log into the forum, it said invalid password or username.

I guess that's all I can do at this point. The forum has been going awol anyway. First the avatars went missing, then when I fixed that, the sigs went missing, and now I can't even delete a member from the admin panel @_@

Ok. Try asking another administator to do it for you.

I made a username. Then, I tried to unsubscribe. "Could not select all users private messages" appeared. What on earth is happening here?

Whenever I refer to my inbox, this pops up: "Could not update private message new/read status (2) for user"

Its obvious the problem is with the private messages...Are you sure you have disallowed PM in the forums? If so, try enabling them again, and see what happens.

The Private Messaging has always been enabled and I haven't touched that option recently.

now I just disabled it, saved it, then enabled and saved. Now what do I do, try deleting the user or check my PM's?

I just checked my PM's and I got the same general error: "Could not update private message new/read status (2) for user". Another user also got this message.

We would need a mod looking into this. It looks more like a server problem. I am not sure wether there´s anything WE can do to fix it. Still trying to figure how to fix it tho.

EDIT: Yes, its a problem many people are having right now. If the ForuMotion staff is doing something with the servers, we might just have to wait.

Oh I see. Well thanks anyway Juani. If there's any changes, I will post it in here. As it stands, I can't send a PM nor access them and I can't delete members. Perhaps it just needs time.
