Customized Index page with HTML

Hi Guys!

Usually, I love exploring the admin panel and discover stuff by myself but this time, i am completely stuck whereas I am real close to find the answer!

Anyway I already made researches in the Search section, by typing key words such as ... html or html index tutorial ... I still got no answer for my request

So here it is
In addition to all the basic design stuff, I want to put few advertisement with a Random Banner on the top of the index page.
so I took the complete source of my index with banner etc... and edited again, including new html for the ads. here is the preview of what i did by creating the HTML :

The problem is that I don't know how I am supposed to make it as the index page. Could someone tell me please?

Or can someone tell me how i can get rid of this -h1 here ?

Or else ... maybe i did NOT have to do it all again so could you explain me where i gotta put this code of the Random banner?

Actually, all this is just a try for a better forum, for my company. And i took the code of the banner from this french beatmaking forum. http://beatmaker-hiphop.forumactif.com/index.htm


I guess you guys have already answered this stupid question somewhere else, or did a tutorial about it so please could you give me a clue?

=> You can't have an HTML page as your first page nor an you remove the h1 or the other identifiants like h2 for the second page)

However, you can put your HTML in the welcome message
