Widgets floating outside the main forum content Empty Widgets floating outside the main forum content

Post by John Zen April 19th 2010, 6:05 am

Ok, i'm needing some help. It'll probably require some CSS coding. What i'm trying to do is have my widgets "float" outside the main forum content. As my forum has a skin that centers the forum, there is space on both sides, well with the the skin adding widgets cause the content of the forum to shrink badly.

So is there anyone that can help me with some tips, or coding that will make this possible?

Also, where can i get a widget like the profile one on here? really wanting one!

here's my forum= Zenventive

thanks in advance

ah, alrighty then
i'll have a go at the log in widget

But that's the thing, i don't want another skin, i've invested a lot of money, time, and effort in this current skin (it's actually a custom skin based off one of Jaylokims)

There has to be a way to code the CSS so that the widgets are out side of the center and "Float" on the sides

I'm really hoping someone here can help, i have an in house coder and i know a little plus i'm researching it as much as possible, but it's proving difficult. I'm hoping Jaylokim or Sanket jumps in here with a god-like solution.

Hello,

I tested your theme on my test board and the widgets seemed to be working fine. Can you please post some screen shots so that I can better understand your problem.

Thanks

go to the page for a better look at how it squishes the site

It squishes the main forum content because the coding is focused into the main content which restricts it the the center.

What i'm trying to do is get the widgets coding outside of the main content part of coding and then edit there coding so they can be moved outside of the center there so my forum isn't squished.

If forumotion doesn't think that should be allowed i can understand, though that leaves me at a loss of privs to use my widgets.... is there anywhere i could get the source code for the widgets?

I thought of creating a CSS/java widget toolbar that hides itself until hovered over, though to do that i would need the source codes for thos widgets.
