Link to the category - *** points ?

Hello...One question.
When I go to Admin Panel > General > Forums directory

And I see this :

Forum Category : Search a category :

Select between all categories
Link to the category - 842 points

What meaning is for this "Link to the category - 842 points" ?

The points is the amount of points your forum has.

The link to the category is the category which your forum is in.

But,I think that a sow points go down...What is can be a reason for point's go down?
Litle visit's , topic's...?

Points can go down if your forum loses activity and posts.
