Gaining FTP access
I've recently made a forum using Forumotion. After a lot of web browsing, I discovered some neat forum skins. I then tried finding out how to upload one of these themes to my domain name. My forum's current version is phpBB33.
So, as it turns out, I need FTP access in order to delete the default theme and replace it with a new one. The problem is, I don't know which data I should put in my FTP program (FireFTP, to be exact).
I've already tried this:
Account name: ffst
Host: ffst.forumhr.com
Login: xxxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxx
However, this attempt of mine was futile and idiotic, since I entered my forum administrator user name and password. I have no idea which password and user name related to forumotion I could use to make it work.
Right now, my account at forumotion isn't in any way connected to my forum, except it's hosting it. Or am I wrong?
I've also considered keeping the current domain name, but hosting my forum elsewhere, but then I realized only a few sites have such features.
What should I do? How can I access my forum's root folder, CSS and all of its files? I'm getting desperate here.
I apologize if this question recurrent and obvious. I simply couldn't relate to the FAQ.

I honestly don't know the complete answer to this. Why don't you try getting a hold of Base?
Re: Gaining FTP access
Hi!
It's not possible to gain FTP access because Forumotion does not hand out its databases. No exceptions.

I'm profoundly confused.
If that is so, how come there's an FAQ section about FTP? It's here.
Is there any possible way to circumvent this?

I don't know why there is a tutorial on FTP but it appears that it's not related to Forumotion...
There is no possible to circumvent I'm afraid.

Well, still, thanks for the answer. Okay, so I can't access the FTP, but can I still change my forum's skin and style? Upload it through the ordinary http?

Well, to change the forum's skin and colours you can either:
=> Go to HitSkin.com and install a new skin from there
...or:
=> Go to:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Display Tab
3. Pics management or Colors
4. Play around with the settings there

Ah, well then. Actually, I'm quite happy with the design of the default theme. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that the post sidebar is located on the right side, not on the left (like on this forum).
I'm aware of the Admin Panel, but, for some reason, I'm not able to access the css from there. I guess it's one of phpBB3's quirks. I've tried other versions, but they aren't as visually attractive as phpBB3.... You win some, you lose some....

Re: Gaining FTP access
Are you in advanced mode of the admin panel? And you can find the CSS at:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Display Tab
3. Colors (on the left, under Pictures and Colors)
4. CSS Stylesheet
To put your profile details on the left side, go to:
1. Adminstration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Configuration (on the left, under Forum)
4. Select 'Profile position in the messages : Left'

2. Display Tab
3. Colors (on the left, under Pictures and Colors)
4. CSS Stylesheet

3. Configuration (on the left, under Forum)

I'm such an idiot. I oversaw this profile position option. Aaagh, so many hours spent trying to solve this.
Thanks again.

Yep, yep - the topic can be locked, if that's what you mean.
