Users having trouble creating an account

Hi I have received a couple of messages from users who are trying to become a part of my forum and they are having trouble logging in. Does anyone have a list of reason of what a new user may be doing wrong, so I can let them know and they can fix the issue?

Please provide your forum URL so we can take a look. Are the members in question using the correct username and password? What error message are they receiving? Thanks!

Maybe, the users don't activated his accounts? To check this go to Administration Panel => Users & Groups => Users => Inactive Users.
Alos, you can do that the members shouldn't activate his accounts. Administration Panel => Users & Groups => Users => User options => Members => New accounts activation : Automatic activation

Thanks Gassy! The user had told me that he had activated account but once I followed your instructions to see it looks like it didn't go through. So I was able to activate him and then also thanks for pointing out the automatic activation, that should help in the future!!

Thanks Base for your help. I think this was the issues, so hopefully they will now be able to log in with no issues but I will let you know if he receives an error message.
