Lock threads for "new members"?

hi there,

its not really a problem i have. its more a question about a function.

is it possible to set some topic like this, that lets say a member who has only 1 post can not comment on this topic? he ll need 10 to unlock it?

f.e if i have a competition or random threads with lots of blabla and users register to the forum and first thing they do is take part in competition or talk about their fave tv show, which isnt forum related...
is there a way to "block"those threads from them, so they can only read but not post? until they reached a certain amount of posts, lets say 5, so they have to make some useful posts first, like introducing, discuss forum related stuff...?

You can lock every topic, then simple members can not post in the topic. For permissions go to your categories and forums administration and then you'll se

but that is not exactly what i meant.
i know you can lock topics. thats not what i want tho.
i would like to lock topics for members that have lets say for example less than 10 posts.

does this work somehow?

You should create a group...

So, create a group wich havent got permission for write in a certain subforum, only for view it...
