Ability To Monitor Private messages towards users.

I Think forumotion administrators should be able to view members Private messages for report-control that way the members don't have to report it and the administrators can automatically do their job =====> Please Give feedback (: Thanks.

Eumh... it's called "Private Message" for a reason.
People sometimes swap sensetive details through there

Agreed. Options C and D aren't needed

Option C is rather an argument, a reason for voting. But we have posting for giving an argument.

I have to say that adding this feature would not be a good idea, instead of calling them private messages they will be public messages. It would be better if the members report it, you would have to view a bunch of PM's if you happen to have a huge community. Anyways it would take you pretty much the same time to view the PM's yourself then with a member reporting it. I deny this feature and vote for definite no.

I also voted no, because members would not really use it if it was not private. I would have voted yes if the feature would monitor the private messages and only reported the questionable ones.

Clearly if you could monitor the Harrassment messages

I fully support this idea. Harassment messages need to be monitored, as it will benefit the safety and the security of the forum.

However, if this is implemented, please make it admin only. I'm sure the admins won't go through the inboxes without permission anyway.

That would prevent spam, and I voted Yes, but administrators should not abuse with that option.

phpBB has a mod for that. I vote yes, the only problem is privacy and all...

[center]I'm with you on this one i think we should have a report button on it and if a member wants the admin or mods to see the PM then it would be sent as a pm to them but i really Dont like to see what my staff / members are talking about so my Vote is a big NO

No.

There are some problems that could lead to this, such as members messaging other members personal info. If one of the rules in your forum is that members may not exchange personal info, I do believe that administrators should be given the permission to view members private messages because members could be breaking forum rules via PM.

This is a very hard decision.

Big Fat "NO".... Private messages are meant to be as such "private".. You mine as well call them "Monitored Messages".
Should any of my members have a problem, all they had to do is inform me and the matter will be dealt with. I wouldn't be involved in a site or utilize its PM feature, if my pm's were being viewed by those other than whom they was intended for...
If this becomes a feature i would most likely leave FM..

Voted No. Its ethically incorrect to read Private Messages even if you own the board.

Me too. As someone said before, they're called private for a reason.

No, but a Report! Reports can send to Admins..or Users must give their OK.

Private Messages means Private. Forumotion won't allow this as they said it many time.
