Solved Domain linkage confusion

Post by tom2day February 20th 2012, 9:23 pm

I recently purchased www.albernitalk.com domain name from Forumotion but it is still directing to a GoDaddy page instead of to the forum at http://alberni.canadian-forum.com. I was led to believe the redirection would be automatic. Could someone help out with this please? Thanks in advance.

Hmm... I think if you buy a domain, this will remain for a year. After disappearance, the bought url adress redirect you to GoDaddy. You said, you recently purchased, so, this should be a mistake, maybe...

OK and I received this email about 6 hrs ago.

"Hello,

Your reservation for the domain name albernitalk.com has been successfully done.

Your forum will be available at these two addresses : http://alberni.canadian-forum.com and http://www.albernitalk.com

This new address will be available within the next hours.
To optimize your SEO on the new domain name, we recommend that you force the redirection in your Admin panel >> General >> Forum address >> Personalized domain name.

Regards,
Forumotion team

So I am to assume "This new address will be available within the next hours" means within the next 48 hrs?

I do not wish to have forum members directed to the GoDaddy parking sight. My new domain albernitalk.com directs to that parking sight at the moment hence the problem.

In any event could I have this process expedited as its been over 48 hrs since purchase and to wait another 48 hrs seems a little extreme. Thanks for your help.
