problem with urls on mediefire links Empty problem with urls on mediefire links

Post by angels77 February 27th 2012, 12:50 pm

sorry if this isnt correct place but it seems a code when embedded or posted in full in posts

on our forum problem related to mediefire upload links as they are not recognising the " http://www " in front of whats shows in forum posts

if one clicks on "quote" button one can see the full url and copy and paste into e mail etc and click on that to reach link
but no way can you reach them from forum posts ...

take off http://adf.ly/246619

You may have to take the first part of everytime you post befor you press send
Because on my forum if a member pastes a link in they sometimes have touble as well we just go in and do edit and take first part out and it works.
hope that has helped you
please let us know

windows screen shot tool and then upload onto

imgur: the simple image sharer
imgur.com/
Imgur is used to share photos with social networks and online communities

as its quick and requires no messing about as image shack now does

we post chess openings books on our forum , some 15 to 20 per week books that are mostly now allready on mediefire when we get them , and to download then re upload on other site would cost an absolute fourtune as we are on pay a s you go service provider at £25 for 7 gb data allowence , which lasts about 10 days running forum Rolling Eyes

Why don't you also try uploading them directly to your forum using the Attachments function?

What he is saying is that Forumotion blocks it. You can't get around it. I tried a couple tests on my forum, and it didn't work.

Code box code:
Code:
[code]URL HERE[/code]
(Just hit Select Code on the top right, copy it, and paste it.)

Allow me to re-phrase that. It doesn't necessarily 'block' it, it's just the Forumotion system messes with the URLs.

What are you putting in for the code? It works on ALL forumotion forums.

I believe everyone is misunderstanding what exactly is happening. I have some mediafire links on my forum, too. When you press them and press the skip add button, the homepage of mediafire loads not the download page.

we did not triple post

we got back to the person who kindly tried to help us

we sympathise with your problem and share it
we draw your attention to MrMarios post and as you will see we asked politely for an explanation , so there could be no missunderstandings
we are not IT , code and program literate to a degree of knowing half as much as an average coders apprentice , so sought help and advice then clarification
we are aware other forums have had similar problems with hotfire links ,but we havent , only mediefire this last 2 days

but we have noticed one other forum has had this same problem for 2 weeks , links miss out the /? when posted
now its happening to us ...

I heard that posting download links is not allowed,
Is that why we can't post mediafire links anymore?
Hope this problem is resolved soon =(
