Thanks , the admin of the forum http://inaflap.forumotion.co.uk is behaving irrisponsibly and is repeatedly changing the ID's of the two members i originally mentioned , the ID's are getting more insulting by the day , something needs to be done to monitor irrisponsible administrators who are giving forumotion a bad name .

well if he changed the user name and pass then try to send your self a new pass, then log in with the user name he changed it to.
then try deleting your account. You can also contact him and tell him you want your account completely deleted and by law he has to honor this or he is in violation.

You can give him the link to this thread in the message as well, this way if he dose not believe you then he will see it here..

then if he dose not delete the account you will have to make a report to litigation's above and let them handle the matter.

But yeah, if the account that was yours is now a different pass and user name you can still send your self a new password request by clicking on lost pass word on the log in page.. and one again hen just log in with the pass that is sent and the username he changed it too.

unless he changed the email to, and that would not make any sense at all, let a lone if he did change the email, pass and user name, then technically it is no longer your account, and thee is no law or rule saying that he has to remove anything you posted.. so dunno, you would have to make a complaint to litigation's if he did change all three.
But i would try to send my self a new pass first to see if you receive it, if you do then your email was not changed and you can log in with the new pass and whatever user name he changed it to.

Kirk , thanks , i tried that but the admin has also changed the password and the email address, the point to all this is that the quotes on the thread have my original id and admin has clearly done this in attempt to try and make two members look bad , now who do i complain to about the incompetant person because he is breaking the rules of data protection as my original id is clearly linked to the id he has changed ?
thank you

Hi,

The admin is permitted to change user names & passwords, he is also allowed to "annoy" anyone on his forum to whatever extent he can go without intervention. Unless s/he does something Illegal such as post pornographic material, forumotion, I don't think will be able to do much.

If he has changed your password, but not your email & you know the current username, and wish to remove your account, follow this link
=> https://www.forumotion.com/en/unscribe/
Now, you may have to update your password, so go to the forum's login page and request a new password (unless you know the current one, which you say it's changed so you don't.) and update it. Now proceed with the account deletion via the link above Smile

You will have to report this to litigation.
Go to the top of the home page here and click where is says how to report a forum
I am on my iPod and do not know how to past the link
But is right at the top of the home page index page here on the support forum.

It's not necessary true that they cannot intervene, as they can, however they choose not to, as it is the founders decision to do so, and it is not Illegal, atleast in France, which is where ForuMotion is located.
If the issue were to esculate, yes ForuMotion's litigation team would intervene.

If you wish to have your account removed still, I'm not sure of the grounds, but you can contact Leeloo (link on right -->) and have a chat with her, and find out if she can further assist you, as you will need to provide confidential information to prove that the account was yours, however, I don't know if she would, or wouldn't be able to assist you. Sorry.

Kirk, I don't even have an IPod , Uni must be proving worthwhile for you Very good

Well the admin is not obligated to remove anything that someone posted (unless it is content that is in violation). When you post something you should know that it has the chance of always being on the forum.. Unless you are able to delete all your post or a staff admin dose it..

But now, it's a different account, however all your post are still under this new account thats not even yours now. So thats a bunch of bull and i would not want nor stand for this either. Evil or Very Mad

So i say you contact the admin by the contact link in the forums footer, You tell him you want the account removed/deleted and give him the link to this thread to show you mean business. Then if he dose not delete the account he will be in violation and can lose the forum.

So when the account is deleted, all your post will still be there, but will have a user name as guest. And thats the best you will be able to do. Because once again he dose not have to delete any of your post that you have posted, But he dose have to delete the account.. if all the post was from you, and he now changed the email pass and user name. They were still your post from the original account and i feel you have the right to have the whole account deleted.

Thats how i feel about the situation, But i honestly do not know what forumotion litigation's policy would be for such a ridiculous and retarded action such as this on the forums administrators part.. May be leeloo can explain.

But by any administrators taking such strange and irresponsible actions such as this is only going to land them in hot water. So send him a message and try to plea with him to remove the account, and if he dose not and wants to play hard ball, then forumotion litigation will have the last say about it.

But as far as your post, and dose not have to remove them..

To me your whole complaint should be that he is not honoring the deletion of your account. Yes he changed the user name, pass and email, but originally it was your account with all your post, He is not deleting it, and is a violation in my eyes.

But this is such a strange thing for someone to do, i really have no idea how situations like this would be handled? If all you are saying is 100% true and legit, Then it just goes to show you some people should not be running forums.

And thats another thing, forumotion litigation's will have to investigate all your are saying to make sure it is indeed a legit complaint and violation. So that is why if and when you make a complaint to litigation you provide and explain as much as you can.. and try to be blunt to the point to where they fully understand it as well.

i have joined a forum in the past and i realised it was the wrong link my friend sent me, i asked an admin to delete my account, but he just ignored me

i have tried checking if my account is there. i have tried logging in, but it says my password is wrong or my username, i always have the same username and i know for sure i remember my password

i have checked and my account is still there, i have asked him again, but he wont delete it

By international law if you request to have your account deleted the admin has to honor it. However i am sure most forums admins do not know this and can be let off with a warning the first time.

You can try this like Darren has posted. But it sounds like he may have just deleted it.
