In progress Validated JavaScript

Post by merry2 June 18th 2012, 2:09 pm

Hi, I appreciate all the help I have received as a newbie here and have a third question please.

I have used a great slideshow javascript for 8 years and it has worked great for me on every other site, but the instructions for this site say that it must be validated to work. The script does not work when I upload it to my site http://mastertester.forumotion.net/

Validated to WHAT standard, please? I've used http://validator.w3.org/check but it has many, many choices of standards. Once I know the standard I can tweak it to that standard.

Here is the slideshow generator: http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/slideshow/

Thanks so very much!

Have you activated your JavaScript? Right above where you add your codes is a yes or no option.

Seems quite messy (badly written) to me. A fair enough of comments to make the user understand, though.

Have you tried www.jsfiddle.net and using their jslint debug?

This may be your issue. What was valid 8 years ago may not be now.
It may use functions that are no longer available for use. Either way, it could do with an update.
