Question about rules
Hello!
I have one question that I hope you can answer. Before my forum was created, I read the terms and it said something along the lines of "If forum contains content promoting sex, drugs, violence, etc, it will be removed without notice".
I plan on making my forum a place for poetry. When I looked at that rule, I immediately thought it was directed towards images. Now for my question. Does that rule apply to written words even if they are not "promoting" sex or drug use? For example, a poem about the negative consequences of rape but in the poem rape is described. Would I be required to remove that to comply with the terms of service so my forum won't get deleted?

Re: Question about rules
Yes, rape is a word which describes violence in a way. So its required for you to comply.

Re: Question about rules
Even if it's just writing? That seems ridiculously silly.

Re: Question about rules
You need to reminder that you will have a wide range of members, also age range, that have different ideas, options, and beliefs about different topics. Because of this, you have to try to be very careful with what is posted on your forum.

Re: Question about rules
I wasn't aware our goal in life is to please everyone.
Not so long ago, writing about African Americans in a positive light was forbidden. But some still chose to anyway. They didn't care about pleasing people.
If people don't like what they see, they don't have to look. Viewing my forum isn't mandatory.
On another note, would adding a "Mature content warning" help loosen the chains of the ToS?

Re: Question about rules
Adding that will not stop people from reporting your forum.

Re: Question about rules
But why would any of the higher ups do something to my forum? What I said earlier is more directed towards them.
And I mentioned the "Mature content warning" as something like "Click here to confirm you're over the age of 14". That way, it's not violating COPPA.(The reason for your ToS)

Re: Question about rules
If someone complains about your forum via the litigation tool & Forumotion finds anything disrespecting the TOS of Forumotion, they can take action then.
