Can you please provide us with more detail for your issue? I do not currently understand what you are saying, perhaps you could explain with a screenshot?

I think I may understand you, but am not sure...are you referring to the default avatar?

So you cannot change the link under..
Administration Panel > Display > Avatar > Avatar Gallery > Avatars management?

The image you provided above does not exist, which is why whatever it is on your forum isn't working. When I click the image below it takes me to redirection because this image does not exist on the server.

Even if you change the default avatar, it will not changed old members' default avatars.  It will only affect new members.
