Mystery User ON Line
On the home page of my forum I've noticed that always shows "In total there is 1 user online :: 1 Registered, 0 Hidden and 0 Guest" I've checked the Admin panel "Who's On Line and it shows the same, that is, "In total there is 1 user online :: 1 Registered, 0 Hidden and 1 Guest. The Register member is me.
When I log out it still shows 1 user on line. Can anyone explain who the mystery user is?
Thanks!

Re: Mystery User ON Line
When you log out, does it show the user online as a guest cause if that is the case, that would still be you since you logged out and are viewing the forum at that time.
Re: Mystery User ON Line
There is a glitch where if you log off, you are still shown as being online. It does not appear all the time. Is this what you mean?

Re: Mystery User ON Line
SLGray Thanks for your response. It always shows 1 user on line. See below
Who is online?
In total there is 1 user online :: 0 Registered, 0 Hidden and 0 Guest.
If I was to log ON it would show:
"In total there is 2 user online :: 1 Registered, 0 Hidden and 0 Guest."
It's no big deal I'm just curious.

Yes! If I log on, the notification changes to 2 user on line 1 (Norton) Registered. If I was to log off it will always indicate 1 user ON line?
Re: Mystery User ON Line
That is down to the slow side of a server.
The problem is our servers can go a little slow at times and it needs time to get all your data from your site.
If you have lots of CSS file and templates changed and codes added then this will slow your site down lots and then it takes time to bounce from server to server so it will show as one online and then 2 online when logged in.
This should fix it's self after your first post or when you resynchronize your forum from the ACP

The forum has changed very little if any since its creation. Very few CSS files or templates. Posting doesn't fix the anomaly I'll try a resynch and keep you posted.

Did you refresh via F5, once logged out and this may be a fath but clearin your cache may help
This is no major concern in my eyes but is just a little bug as the forum will have to process the data and will not have done if you have not refreshed.
Thanks,
ChanelW
Thanks Refresh or clearing cache doesn't solve the glitch.

Ape I just re synchronized the forum. No change.
Re: Mystery User ON Line
Hmm really strange if its not any better by the end of the weekend i will ask some one to look at this for you but as you know we are really busy right now and it may take a long time to get looked at and as its only you having this problem it maybe a code or change you made on your site so the best thing to do is turn off your java codes and templates and then run it again to see if this is still a problem.

Thanks Ape for the follow up. I turned OFF Java codes management it remains unchanged.
This is what I see:
No Users on line
When I log IN
It is really not that big of a deal, it doesn't affect the Forum performance. I was just curious as to the cause. I also re-synchronized the Forum, no change.

ChanelW wrote:Hello,
Just searching around I may have found that this may be causing the issue.
ACP-> Users&User groups->'User Options'-> 'Time considered a member is offline' if needed decrease the amount of time.
This may resolve your issue, if not then consider APE's suggestions
Thanks,
ChanelW
Thanks for your assistance. It's set for 2 min can't go much lower than that.
Re: Mystery User ON Line
Thanks Folks for assistance.
I may have solved the mystery?
I belong to another local FM Forum and just clicked on (didn't sign IN) the url
It shows exactly the same "Who's On Line"
I figure that the 1 user on line 0 Registered is registering the 1 Guest viewing the index.
This makes sense more sense to me now as both forums show the same "Who's on Line. The 1 user displayed must be the Guest?

Re: Mystery User ON Line
That was it, I just verified the "Who's On Line" count.
Without logging into my Forum it showed 1 User 0 Registered 1 Guest.
Logged IN and the count changed to 1 User 1 Registered 0 Guest.
That was interesting! A simple query that had us all stumped. LOL
Thanks!
