Solved Renewing existing Domain name.

Post by roseman August 24th 2018, 11:05 pm

I do apologize for this post if it has already been addressed. I could not find anything in the archives in relation to it. At present our Domain name is up for renewal. We have the credits which is required, 1600 I believe. I have gone to the appropriate section to do so and am unable to spend the credits we have, we have 27 days to do so, any assistance would be appreciated. We at present do not want to upgrade, just keep our domain name.
Thanks in advance.

David.

Hello David,
I searched our archives and found a thread that has some steps by a former Admin of Forumotion. Follow the steps below, these steps can be found in that thread linked below.

Derri wrote:ACP --> Misc --> Spend Credits --> Domain Name --> It will allow you to renew the domain name.

Solved Re: Renewing existing Domain name.

Post by roseman August 24th 2018, 11:34 pm

Hi, mpelmmc and SLKGray I have read your replies, I am still none the wiser. I have pasted a piece below,

 Free package: this is the default package for all Forumotion forums, which continues to offer features that allow relevant use of your forum. These features include access to advanced permissions, image hosting, optimization of your forum for SEO, unlimited number of topics, members and messages, etc.

As an existing member of the forumotion application, do we need to purchase a package to "only" continue our domain name, the forum which I run is slowly dying but I thought I would purchase this coming years time with the credits we have. If we have to purchase a package, it will not be productive as the traffic is not high enough to warrant this.

Many thanks David/roseman

Domain name acquisition is only available for forums in Renewing existing Domain name. 857436672 or Renewing existing Domain name. 312592876 package: if this is not the case for your forum, you will need to subscribe a premium package or an advanced packagebefore you can buy a custom domain name (how to?)

Sorry to be a pain again APE, could you or one of the other admin answer this question please,
As we have 3126 credits, can we spend some of those on a "Advanced Package" by the month and also use some of them on our Domain name(1600 credits)

Many thanks roseman/David.

Solved Re: Renewing existing Domain name.

Post by roseman September 21st 2018, 11:16 pm

Hello to whoever is on at present. It would appear that the domain name "Rosetalk Australia" has expired due to the lack of response from the members to pay for the new packages offered. So I have two questions.
1. What happens to 3126 credits we have, are they returned to us in cash to my bank account or due you keep them.
2. All the material generated over ten odd years is it your property or ours, if it is ours, can or could it be downloaded to say a hard drive or a memory stick, I was asked to ask,

Many thanks David.

Hello roseman.
1. What happens to 3126 credits we have, are they returned to us in cash to my bank account or due you keep them.
Sadly we will not credit your bank with your remaining credits.
I do understand that you would like to have spent this on your domain name and other things on your forum but you need to buy the advanced pack at least to get a domain name

We understand this comes to a shock to you but this has been online for some time ( I think it come out in April this year)

We also understand that money is hard to come by and with a slow forum it is not easy to spend that sort of money. You can still use your forum as it is without the domain name you paid for last year
All you need to do is use your address you made when your forum was made.

FM had no choice on this matter it was this or the host was to close down and all of you would have lost your forums.

2. All the material generated over ten odd years is it your property or ours, if it is ours, can or could it be downloaded to say a hard drive or a memory stick, I was asked to ask,

No sorry you can not get data from our servers we do not let anyone gain access to our database Not even us staff have that right.
