Description of problem
Hello! Is it possible to change the forum engine without losing data (for example, from modernBB to punBB)? If not, is it possible to do it without data though?Re: Changing forum engine
hello
if you change versions the forum data meaning posts, members, topics, etc nothing will be changing but your pictures, CSS codes, modified templates and javascript might not work since each version has different elements
you can change the version without changing the skin to prevent losing your forum style but codes will not work as i said above
i suggest you read this tutorial carefully https://help.forumotion.com/t9692-the-utilities-backup-and-restore#49986

Re: Changing forum engine
If you have any customized CSS, it will be erased. If you have JavaScripts, they might get broken since some are version specific. This applies to changing versions and even just themes.
If you are going to change forum's versions, you can save your coding somewhere off the forum. Even if you are only changing themes, I would save the coding.
