Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
Alright, I've seen people asking over and over for music embedding codes, how to's, and ways to get around it restarting over and over. WELL!, I found a way, and you may like it, and you may not... Your choice, but I'm going to show you how I did it.
Preview of Page It will be similiar to this, but on a blank page, now headers and stuff, just the music player...
Step 1 ~ Goto Mindviz.com or any other free music place that gives you offsite code/html....Register and get your player code...
Step 2 ~ Admin Panel -> Modules -> HTML Pages Management-> Create New -> Give it a "TITLE" -> Use of Header/Footers.. Yes/No(preferable NO) -> Make as Homepage.... Yes/No(preferable NO) -> Copy/Paste next Code....
Notes:
Hex color from your CSS, enter it here...
NO CLUE as I just wanted player on page only...
Font color you want...red/blue/whatever
Place whatever you want here for title/header
Your player EMBED code/html goes here...
Once you get it all the way you want -> SAVE IT
Step 4 ~ Now click HTML Pages Management again so you will be sitting back at the area to "CREATE PAGE" with a new HTML page and link listed -> Copy the link to your page
Step 5 ~ Admin panel -> Modules -> Portal Management -> Portal Pages List -> Structure -> Navigation -> Edit
Now that your here, and ready to edit...Look down at the links already there, we are going to do something similiar....
Start off by finding your last link and at the end of it you will see:
</span>
Set your cursor before the </span>, and type in the following:
Notes:
Paste/Insert the HTML link from earlier here....
Whatever name you want link to show goes here...
NOW SAVE IT
Step 6 ~ Tada! You should now have a working link on your portal that takes you into a new window, and has your music player on it....Just minimize it while at your site, and listen to music nonstop while working or browsing....
Last Notes: If anybody comes up with a better way to do the HTML table & background, without getting to carried away, and can keep it centered in the page, let me know. I'm still to clueless about coding and this is the best I could do, with help from others, as they think most should already know how to do this....
ENJOY!

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
This is non looping, non restarting music player...
Better than a standard embed that restarts everytime the page refreshes.

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
Hmm, no comments...What? nobody likes a non looping music player?
I'd rather have 2 hours worth of music that doesn't restart every thread I enter....
JMO though...

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
I tried but I have to install the portal and it might mess up my computer if I install it.

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
I must be doing something wrong because it is showing up on my portal and playing without being clicked on.

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
This guide is exactly correct, all you have to do is follow it and paste in your player code, and make the link EXACTLY like the guide says...
Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
Well then I don't know. I have done it over and over and I can't get it to where you click on the link in the portal like yours. Instead it is playing right from the portal page. Thanks for your help.

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
Don't know where I copied the wrong link from.....lol. Guess I have been on the forum for too many hours trying to get different things to work. It is an awesome code! Now my whiners can shut up and get off of their soap boxes. I was all in favor of buying them ear plugs but was told that I have to be nice. You have a great night. Don't work to hard.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I tried as instructed and am also unable to get it to play. Not sure what the hell I did wrong. It may be a blonde thing on my behalf.

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
After step 3 before step 4, once you have saved it it takes you to where you can save it or preview the html page. Click on the preview button. Now you should be previewing the play that you created in the html page. The link in the address bar is the one that you are copying for the next part. What I did was left that page open and copied and pasted the other link first.
I could not figure it out to save my life. Viper was nice enough to save me the headache and do it for me. After that I went beck and started pulling the code apart to see where I went wrong and figured it out. I now have two of them on my board and will be working on more. I have a bunch of females that complain that it is not the music that they listen to so with this here I am able to break it down.
Good luck. Oh and um not a blonde thing on this part.....lol

Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
it still restarted for me on firefox. but i liked how the affilates code went slow on mouseover so i took it .
- Code:
<div class="tableborder">
<div class="maintitle"> Affiliates [ <a href='http://viperzone.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=daffiliates'>View All</a> | <a href='http://viperzone.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=daffiliates&id=linkus'>Link-us</a> ]</div>
<table class="tablepad" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="4" width="100%">
<tr>
<td align="center" class="row2"><marquee scrollamount='5' onMouseover='this.scrollAmount=1' onMouseout='this.scrollAmount=5'><a href='http://viperzone.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=daffiliates&id=out&affid=1' target='_blank'><img src='http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/xxVIPERxx/viperzoneaff2.png' alt='VipersZone' title='VipersZone' /></a> </marquee> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="darkrow2"> </td>
</tr>
</table>
</div><br />
Re: Music Player Tutorial(non restarting)
LOL, that code is for iPB 1.3, and it isn't complete...That is part of thier affiliate mod that they run on that host.... Mouse over is easy, any HTML training program would do the same thing.
Preview was for the music player, not so you can go lift codes from another providers service....
But hey do what you want. It's just a test site...
