HELP!! RE: Private forums

Hello!! I've searched and searched before posting but couldn't find the answer. I need to have forums that can't be seen by the rest of the board, but some members can post after they've been approved. Sort of like an opt-in forum. I've set up a group, but can you post in a private group? It seems like you can only PM the members of a group.

First you will need to create a new group Users & Groups > Group Administration
Add the members you want to see the special forum.

Then create the new forum General> Categories and Forums. Edit permissions of the forum and switch to advanced mode. Select the relevant permissions so that only members of the group can see and post to it

Unfortunately there is no automated system to allocate members, for example when they reach a certain post count, so you will have to update the members of the group manually

I think I'm stuck adding members to the group. I thought I had but it doesn't seem to work.

In admin Panel,

Users & groups>Groups>Groups Administration

Click on the group to which you want to add a member.


You can see this. Just add a username which you want to add to the group & click on add member.
