Private Forums

I have created some private forums for the mods. And someone requested a private forum for them and one other person. I made a hidden group so these two members can have a private forum. But when I went to Management+ I did not see the option that it could be hidden just for that group. Am I just not seeing it or is that not an option.

Hi red.

About private forums and groups permissions, I can tell you some tricks.

You had set on private the permissions of the forum.
You had also create a group with your members in.
So, you have to go to the permissions of the groups to allow this group to use the private forum.

I hope what I said is clear enough. Confused

I did create a hidden group for the forum. But when I go... the only people I can allow in is the admins and mods and everyone. I called the group Private Forum1.

Never mind.. I found it. I made it just a private forum and then I went to user permissions and allowed only the people that they wanted.

Ok, for this time.
But it's better to use groups permissions.

Individual permissions are limited to a hundred modification. So if you want to include some members in a group, you have to go to :
Groups link in the links bar --> Chose the group --> Put the name of the member in the field in the bottom of the page.

I hope you are the moderator of the group. Only the one who ave this function can see the field to include members.

Hi,

I have created forum where I plan to put a photos of moderators and administrators but i dont know how to close it for the other members.
If someone wish to come at that forum we want to give a permission but we dont know how to do that.
So,forum is visible for everyone but if some members wish to come and to see the photos we have some conditions.
I hope you understand me pale

Go2 your administrator panel at the bottom and then go2 Manage+... click the arrow at the bottom if you do not see this and then you should. There, if you create a forum there... at the bottom you can make it to where only mods can get in the forum. you can click one that says hidden at the end so no one can even see the forum with all the other forums.

I wish this subforum visible for others but I wish also that they cant go in without our permissions..

I didn't respond to your first message because I wasn't sure to understand, my English is not perfect, I'm French from Quebec.

1- You go to Admin panel > Click on the yellow arrow at the bottom > Management+ > Enter in a category > Edit a forum > In the Permission Panel, set "All" or "Reg" for "View", and set "Private" to the rest (except for Announce and Sticky that you can leave it to Mod).

2- Go to Admin Panel > Group Admin > Management > Create a usergroup > Give it a name and a description > Choose a moderator for the group > Decide if it's an Open group (members can enter the group without permission of the moderator), Closed group (members need the permission of the moderator to enter), or an Invisible group (closed group that can only be seen by its members)

3- Go to your Admin Panel > Group Admin > Permissions > you choose the group you had just created > Allow the access for the group in the private forum

4- Go back to your board and click on "Usergroups" at the top of your board, and you can add members. You can let the group moderator do this job.

I hope to be clear enough.
