Member cant create account

The problem is what it says in the title and the error being recieved is below in desription.

Any one else experianced this

I have tried creating the account my self and get the same error.

Any clues

This trade user has an email .own domain name.co.uk

But i have plenty of others like this who have registered

Could it be he has info before the @ symbol

Very strange - email address if fine weve been emailing back and forth on it trying to sort this..

Ok, I've just created what I'm assuming is a fake account "darren1@ajautocraft.co.uk" for my test site and have managed to register perfectly fine.

Can you tell me what error he is receiving?

The email address is invalid

Just want to say that I had this same problem trying to open an account to create my forum! It kept telling me my email address was invalid. It's not! I use it all the time! An example of the email address is bob@mydomain.com. Simple, nothing weird and it refused to take it. Since I have a catch-all for my domain, I just changed it to fred@mydomain.com and tada, it worked. No idea. Weird. Good luck, though.

This is most likely 'caused because forumotion's system cannot confirm & legitimate that email address.

Can you ask the member/s to use another address (IE: @hotmail.com) and then once they have registered you the admin can update it to the address they would like.

I will report back, it may help someone else

He got an account created using a hotmail account.

But couldn't edit it in his profile to his company email addy.

You cannot add those kinda addresses, hence you cannot edit it.

Im afraid I have to disagree as other people\companies with there own domain names have already created accounts

Whats the email extension that he used? Whats the error he gets?

Thats a wrong extension for sure. That site doesn't even exist.
