category descriptions

Hi,

How do you get the category descriptions to display?

I have entered a description in the description input box using the text editor.
When I save I can see it has converted the description to HTML.

But when I view the forum the description does not appear with the category.

Any ideas?

just found in the FAQ that the description only shows on a category attached to another category.

Is ther no way of attaching a description to the root category?

You must have a forum connected to a category to make it work.

I have got forums attached but you still cannot see category descriptions on the home page.

How do I display them?

I have tried changing skins, themes and versions.

I have added and edited lots of different text in the category descriptions.

i have been through every panel in admin.

When I look at other forums in the directory EVERY other forum has description in its categories.

What am I doing wrong?

graemeb, those category descriptions don't really appear on forumotion forums.
They are actually used only for forums.

you cannot get a category description here on forumotion, you can only have forum descriptions.

A category description may be possible via template editing, which is only possible on PunBB & PhpBB2, but I cannot guarantee it, and I would have to do a bit of coding, and I don't have alot of time to do coding right now.

I was trying to add description to categories when what I reall needed was forum descriptions.
