Solved Spoiler Tags are not working properly

Post by Animeraider March 31st 2010, 4:52 am

First topic message reminder :

I use spoiler tags in nearly every topic in my forum (over 2,000 topics - almost all posted prior to the problem starting) and when you click on them now nothing shows up - which only started happening in the last 24 hours. Something has gone wrong with the spoiler tags. Is anyone looking into a fix?

Solved Re: Spoiler Tags are not working properly

Yumi_Jae, as sanket has said, the techies are aware of this, and are now working on it.
Just, that they don't work long weekends, or weekends.

A small suggestion for everyone, make sure your browser allows JavaScript (tools > Options), but the techs are working on it to fix it ASAP.

Yes, I also started having spoiler issues. Every one of my members has begun to have the same issues. I hope this gets fixed soon. The spoilers at my site just don't cover anything. They stay open, regardless of clicking, refreshing, clearing of cache/cookies, and on three different browsers, IE8, Firefox, and Chrome.

Solved Re: Spoiler Tags are not working properly

Post by Etana April 3rd 2010, 1:55 pm

Hello,

Try to add in AP > Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet this :

Code:
.spoiler_content {
  display: block;
}
.hidden .spoiler_content {
  display: none;
}
It should fix it for all version untill it's fixed by the techs for all forum.

Cordially.

Solved Re: Spoiler Tags are not working properly

Post by Cirrus April 4th 2010, 5:17 am

I tried using the one Etana posted, but still presented problems. Then I came across a solution.

Code:
.spoiler.hidden .quote.spoiler_content, .spoiler .quote
{display:none;}

.spoiler .quote.spoiler_content, .spoiler.hidden .quote
{display:block;}

Pop that into the stylesheet if the one above causes problems, it fixed mine.

Hope this helps someone.

Where in the stylesheet do I post it? Just anywhere?

Solved Re: Spoiler Tags are not working properly

Post by preston713 April 5th 2010, 9:27 pm

Okay, i used Jackalraymaiden's code and it worked, but there are sill problems

What happens for me now is that the spoilers are not completely closed, they're partially open, still revealing the spoiler...and also, you have to scroll all the way to the right to read the whole thing.

Originally, the spoiler tags would've fully concealed everything withing the spoiler-tags and the text body was positioned vertically similar to any other post.

How do I fix these new developments?

Code:

and not like this

Spoiler:

The problem appears to be fixed!

I got rid of all the codes I tried and just went back to normal, and now the spoiler tags work exactly how they used to.

I'm not sure if someone changed something on the general server or not, but regardless, everything is good now.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to helping me Wink
