Making a Home Page

Hiya everyone, first post on here so apologies if this in the wrong place etc. Can someone tell me if it is possible to make a HomePage for our forum (http://www.tropicalfishfanatics.forumotions.net).

At the moment all we have is a page with a list of forums on it, but we would like to have a page where the casual visitor gets a page showing snippits of posts, a welcome message, a tab to click on to enter the forum proper, etc is available.

Is this possible, and if so how?

Hello everyone and I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas holidays,

Apologies for raising this again. I am just gointg to have a go at doing this and have been looking at the info in the Tutorial link given.

In the link it says go into admin/modules then Portals and Calender.

I dont know if the layout of the page has changed since this tutorial was done, but there is no icon for Portals and Calender on my version.

I have the following selection - Potral/Gallery/Role Play/HTML/Image host.

If I click on the portal icon, I get a message saying Portal is not installed and to click to install it. Is that what I need to do?

I am worried to death about doing something wrong and messing up the forum so do not want to do anything without checking with you experts, so what is my next move here?

yes you need to install it then set it to show in the pprtal configuartion
