Why is my forum like this?

Why is the general sport section slightly to the right of the football section? I want them in line down the left side.

Also Howcome when I make a section i can't name it for example "Sports" and then have the the different categories under like this:

Sports..
Football
Rugby
Tennis

Like that? If i made a sports section the top forum thread would be called "sports" and i don't want that. I just want the section to be called Sports.

Visit display > structure and hierarchy

Admin Panel => Display => Homepage then click on ''Structure and hierarchy'' from there you can choose Split categories on index: Medium then Save
