Fake Abuses
How can we stop fake abuses from being filed. Our forum provides honest comments on watches and related watch items. I do not allow sponsors although we have been asked to allow them. I have had threats made against the forum by members of a site sponsored by a watch company because we have exposed a sales person as a fake NAVY SEAL and a felon, watches that are not swiss but chinese and the like.
Is there any way to log the IP of the person filing an abuse or a legit email address? We have several attornies as members and even a US district court judge who have suggest the aforementioned way of confirming whether an abuse is legit or not.
thanks

Re: Fake Abuses
The report abuse feature is only for admins to view. If a abuse report is legitimate, you can take action. If not, you can just move it to done abuses.
There is no reason to press the panic button, if nothing is wrong.

thanks. the guy saw an sig file of a long time member who had been banned at watchgeeks for saying that a watch claimed as swiss made was in fact chinese made. The avatar is actually the banned notice he received there (the other site) in gif format. The person emailed me to apologize but honestly it is too easy for this to happen in my opinion. Any nameless person who does not like something at any of the forums hosted by forumotion can file an abuse without revealing who they are.
