How to get rid of the doubled forums?

I have this problem with most of the skins I try to use for my forum.

As you can see I have my normal forums with the white backgrounds in the bottom half of the shot. But in the top half, there is a separate forums list with a black background. I want to get rid of it, is it possible?

This looks to me that a template problem. have you added any new templates before this problem come about ? you could try and change them back to default and see if it fixes the problem but please befor doing so save the ones you have up now so you can place them back if you need to.

That's not working at the moment, I've tried doing that a few times.
It happens with pretty much any PunBB skin I've tried installing; it shows two columns of forums instead of one.

Are you installing the skin from Hitskins or in the administration panel?

I've been doing both.

Install the skins directly from hitskin.com
If you are using a phpbb2 or Punbb skin currently, first install a Phpbb3 skin & then install any other skin which you want.
