Member unable to post
Greetings all :-)
I would really appreciate your aid please regarding the following:
One of the members ( http://warinthessaloniki.forumgreek.com/u5 ) in my forum ( http://warinthessaloniki.forumgreek.com/ ) contacted me saying he can't post and described his problem as follows (I am posting his own description in the event it should prove helpful in identifying the problem):
1st message (this message he sent me via PM on the forum)
"Hello! I can't seem to reply to any posts - there's no button or thingie to click on that says "reply" or whatever. I've been frozen out!
Giles"
2nd message (this message he sent me via Facebook - he can't apparently now access even pms)
"I can't even access PMs! It's like I'm not registered - total blank for anywhere where I can post or access PMs. Which is odd because I'm showing as a registered user and there's nowhere saying "log in" etc, so I must be registered. Really odd."
Please note that in the past he had managed to make two posts.
Also I have carefully gone over the user settings/permissions etc and he is shown both as an active member and with permissions to post etc.
I would greatly appreciate your help as he is a good mate and it's a shame having him unable to post with us.
Thank you for your time
best
Theo

Re: Member unable to post
First thing you can do is, change the password to his account & try logging into the account & check if everything is okay when you use it or not.

Re: Member unable to post
Dear Sanket,
Thank you for your kind reply. I did change his pass and logged in as Giles. I could post normally.
That is a clear indication it's not a problem on the forum's end.
Regardless is there anything I can suggest to help him? I already told him to clear his cache but that didn't help.
Once again thank you for your kind assistance.

Re: Member unable to post
The best way for you to ascertain the problem is to ask the user to make a screenshot of the area below the thread where the post reply button is situated for your forum.

Should i consider this solved? Or keep this thread open, until he provides you with the screenshot?

Re: Member unable to post
He is at work at the moment Sanket so he will try to log in again once he gets home. If he can log in from home normally then it's clearly a problem with the firewall at work and there's nothing we can do on our side.
If on the other hand the problem persists then yes he will send me a screenshot so yes please leave this open for now.
I will post here with what happened anyways so that the topic can be closed.
Thank you
Theo
