Changing post count
In the FAQ on my forum, under 'User preferences and settings', when you click on the question 'How do I change my rank?', the answer that appears there says: In general you cannot directly change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in topics and on your profile depending on the style used). Most boards use ranks to indicate the number of posts you have made and to identify certain users. For example, moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank -- you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.
My question is how do lower a user's post count? It tells me I can in the FAQ but it doesn't tell me how to do it. Just curious. Thank you!

Re: Changing post count
One way is by deleting the member's posts.

Re: Changing post count
Can someone explain to me how to do it or tell me where I can find it in the tutorials? Thank you!

This just means that the staff will delete the posts of members who are abusing the forum. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank -- you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.

Re: Changing post count
So is it just the people on Forumotion that can do that or can I do that on my own forum?
Re: Changing post count
As the administrator of a forum, you have all the rights which includes deleting posts.

Re: Changing post count
Pretty much the only way to alter a user's post count is by deleting their posts. This will of course lower their post count.
However, any manual alterations to their post count is not possible.

Re: Changing post count
Okay. So I can only lower their post count by deleting posts and that's it. Thank you for answering my question.
