Can Guests vote in Polls?
Hi I have recently updated the settings on a forum on http://www.chatouat.com/ to allow guests to vote but it doesn't appear that they can. You can see a poll along the side and also if you go into this forum specifically http://www.chatouat.com/f7-storybrooke-maine-chat any poll a guest should be allowed to vote based on the settings I chose. However when I went to test it I couldn't vote as a guest. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

How did you update the forum to allow guests to vote?

Re: Can Guests vote in Polls?
In the AP under General I found the forum and updated the permissions to allow guests to vote.

Have you tried creating a new poll and seeing if it lets you vote has a guest?

yes and nope it doesn't. I also started a topic as a guest and added a poll...but the poll never showed up when added as a guest.

Are you sure the permissions is set on the forum you are posting the poll on?
Other then that i will have to test it on one of my test forums, i cant recall me ever allowing guest to vote?

Please post a screenshot of the permission page (administration panel) for the forum that has this option.

Re: Can Guests vote in Polls?
Yeah the options are there. it threw me for a loop for a min tooslg wrote:Please post a screenshot of the permission page (administration panel) for the forum that has this option.
All of these following permissions should be set to allow guest to post/vote
View the forum,Read the topics,Reply to a message,Vote,Open a topic and Create a poll
You should also have this set.
Admin panel>user and groups>user options
scroll down to
Allow guest to vote = YES and save
Info added
However with all of this set on my test forum.
i can post and create a poll as a guest. but only the post is showing and not the poll.
Odd? even when i log in as admin, the guest poll is not showing only the post???
So set everything like i have above and let me know how you make out with it.

Re: Can Guests vote in Polls?
THANK YOU!
It was the users options that was causing the problem because it was checked to no!
Even with all of those set the poll that a guest creates doesn't actually get created...but that is ok...i don't really want them creating polls...they can become a member if they want to do that!
I also noticed that it appears that the guest gets one vote...so if I am a member i can do two votes at most on the same IP address I presume...This is REALLY NICE, since that was the main reason I didn't want to allow guests to vote to begin with...afraid it would skew the polls!
