What Guests can see

Is there a way of setting permissions so that guests will see all the categories, all the forums, but will only see the first line of a thread as a "tempter", with a message to log in if they want to see the rest of the post/thread? I dont mean the pop-up login dialog which covers the whole forum .....

ACP < Generals < Categories and Forums < Permission for each category and stuff

There is no permission that allows guests to see only the first message/topic in a post/thread.

Yes I know that, but I didnt want to hide a whole category or forum, just part of a thread.

That wasnt what I asked - I have seen some (non-forumotion) forums where the first LINE of each post is displayed with the rest masked out, just displaying "-- To see the rest of this message, please register. --"

You mean the links? It's still in the permissions.

This is possible with the links posted but not on the rest of the posts since this is manipulated via permissions.
