Hi, We have more storage than we will ever use - and thus, it is very expensive to pay for time. How can we lower the storage? And, then pay for the time for the storage we will be using -

Are you not using that high storage space now?

As far as I know, forumotion does not allow you to pay for large amounts of time at once. For instance, if you needed 40mb, you could pay for the extra 20mb every month and it wouldn't be too expensive. You could not pay the same price for 10mb that extends for two months, however. You will have to renew the storage monthly.

We are not at all.

We didn't know how much we would be using back then - when we started the board - and never have used even close to that much. I don't even really know how much we use or need - but, that is way too much.

Anyhow, don't want to lose the images we do have stored, so we need to pay for time now - but, lower the storage way down to what we actually need. Can you help?

You must wait for the actual storage to expire, and after that buy again - only the space you need. You won't loose any data.

Okay, so wait to pay for the time also?

Will we lose data if we do that? Or should we pay for the time until the storage expires?

Do you need to buy more storage space because you have used up the storage space you brought? If you still have time and storage space left, just wait until the time runs out to see what you need to pay for.

You stop paying for the time, and wait for the storage you already bought to expire.
Then you go to Admin CP - Misc - Storage - Management
The line "Total storage space" will say something like this:
20 Mb (Used : XXX Mb / Free : 0 Mb)
XXX Mb is the total storage space used by your files. This is the minimum amount of space you need to buy from now on. It's a good idea to have a little extra.
If you won't buy enough, you won't be able to upload more files, unless you buy extra space later.

No data will be lost, as I already told you.

When you have in place the storage space to fit your needs, you can buy time as long as you need.
