Bots access to forum

My forum is closed to new members for security reasons and no guests can access the sections of the forum. I have tested this and, when logged out, I cannot get past the registration page.

Please would someone explain to me how a recent 'guest' which was a MSN bot, showed up in the 'who is online' bit of the admin panel as being in one of the private sections of the forum when guests cannot get past the registration page. How did it get in?

This is a concern due to security for my members.

It probably is some posted link of the private section, however i don't think any content is viewable from inside those sections as long its not available for guests to view.

If you have it set up correctly, the bot only will see the log in page. The who's online page will say the page, but the bot does not see the page.
