Link address change re-direction question.

Hi, I am the leader of an SWBF2 clan, (hence the [NH]), and I am also the administrator for our forum. I have a quick question: I just changed the link to my forum, but the old link will re-direct to the forum. For how long does the old link address re-direct to the forum? Does it stop doing that after a certain period of time? Although this is not an urgent question, I would still like to know the answer.

Yes, it will stop redirecting. You need to send a newsletter to all your members and inform them of the new adress.

It won't stop redirecting, as long as you have your personilized domain name in place. You won't need to inform your members.

No, you don't. I'm sorry I misunderstood. But if you ever will, like in my case, it will redirect you.

How would I get one? I have seen the option for it, and tried it, but it didn't work.

You'll need to go to the MISC tab in the Admin Panel. Purchase credits and get yourself your own personalized domain name by spending them (I remember something like 1800 credits for 1 year). This can only be done by the forum founder (admin).

Yah, it was 1,600 credits.  XD I can't afford any right now.

You could set up a donation plan for it!   Ask your members if they're willing to co-invest in your board!

I really do not know how long it last, but the best thing to do is inform your members of the new address.
