IP address

Hey!
I'm new on this site and before creating my own forum I'd like to know: as an administrator I can see IP adresses of users, are those IP adresses those they have when they register or does the IP change depending on from which PC, tablet, etc the user is logged in... you know what I mean? =3

I hope you can help me (and I hope it's the right place to post this Shocked

I'm a bit confused right now^^')

Hi AloeVerra,
Of course can you can see your members ip addresses from the Admin Control Panel. For the members who havent posted any topic you can see their IP address while they are connected only, and for the members which they have made posts you can see their ip address while connected and from their posts when you pressing the button IP in their topics. Their IP address is independ from their devices like tablets, pcs or phones. An IP address is depending from their Internet Service Provider (ISP) always. I hope to help you.

Thank you very much for your quick reply =) and I think my question wasn't clear (I'm really sorry, English is not my mother tongue). What I meant was: If I register with my IP address and then log in with another later, which IP out of these 2 can the administrator see?
I hope that's understandable now, sorry^^'

Hello AloeVerra,

The administrator of a forum can see your IP address by :

1. ) The online list in the administration panel ( you must be online at the time )

2. ) If you have posted a message while using that IP address

If you mean that you have more than one IP address, the administrator will only see the one that you are logged in at the time, or the one that you were using when you make posts.

If you have posted with more than IP address, the administrator can press the IP address button in a post and see all the IP addresses that is connect to your account.
