Solved Coloured Usernames

Post by Bignuggs March 13th 2014, 6:33 am

In the Admin panel I can allow colorization of usernames but I don't allow it.
When the forum management team are online, their names appear as Red but in all the forums their names are black.
Is there a way of allowing the management team to have their names and title in Red but not allowing it for ordinary members.

Allowing username colourization won't make your members have colour/get colour.

Also make sure you tick the relevant colour box in the group permissions.

Thanks for your response.  Maybe I haven't explained well enough what I am trying to do.  I'm an old dude so be gentle with me  Very Happy
When a member of the Admin/Management team is online, their name appears in RED. Panel 1 in the screen shot.
But in the forums/topics, the names are black.  Panel 2.
In panel 3, the group is RED.
I am trying to get the Admin names to show in RED and not black as per panel 2.
I've had a look at the permissions but I can't see where the Admin team can have their names RED in the forums.

If I understand you correctly, you have checked the no box for colorize usernames, but you still want groups to have colorized usernames. Is this correct?

That is correct.  If I click "Yes" it turns off the red color for the Admin/Management team and everyones name is in black.
So the only time our names appear in red is in the "Who is Online" section.
But I'd like to get the Admin/Management team names to be red all thru the forums even in the small profile section as per the first screen shot I posted.
If it can't be done, then it's not a problem but I thought admin could allow colorization of usernames and I would prefer our names are red at all times.

Is the yes box checked to colorized the usernames in the groups?  It is an option on the page that you fill in the information about each group.

Administration Panel > Users & Usergroups > Groups

Please post your forum's link.

If I'm looking at the correct option, it is ticked "yes".

After using the test account, I located the issue.

The reason why the groups' colors are not working is because you have the groups hidden. They will only work on open or closed groups.
