Solved Forum Hijacked?

Post by 19CenturyWBTS Sun 25 May - 22:18

Greetings Forumotion Team,

today I've run into the following problem: A while ago I created a forum:

archaeology.forumotion.co.uk

but didn't have the time to do a lot of work on it. Today I wanted to return and make some updates, but the forum is "gone" or rather it suddenly auto-links to some obscure Arabian site. No matter what browser I use I can't get to the original forum I created.

I've no clue what to do now or how to get the forum back or whether you guys can actually do something. I hope you guys can help!

Thanks!

Have you got any members on your forum?

How long ago did you create the forum?  Also was there any activity after you created it?

Hello ^^

If the forum had less than 3 posts and less than 3 members, it has probably been auto-deleted.

Once forum is deleted, its url may redirect to a similar one.
In your case it redirects to same subdomain archaeology, only domain and TLD change.

Solved Re: Forum Hijacked?

Post by 19CenturyWBTS Sun 25 May - 23:14

Thanks everyone for your help so far - this is much appreciated!

The forum had been created on 2014-02-18 10:07:36 am (straight from the forum creation/verification e-mail). I had no members yet as I deliberately had turned off the ability for new members to join (as it was a specialized forum for archaeology students from a single university in the UK).

Hmmm - I didn't know that a forum is automatically deleted if there is no activity or if there are no active members.

So where does that leave me? Do I have to re-create everything?

If it has been deleted, and you can not restore it, you can try creating a new forum.
