Deleted user's quotes display username
Hi,
so I deleted a user whose posts are now displayed under the username "Guest", but whenever someone quoted him, it still states "formerUsername wrote:"
Is there anyway to remedy that as it's super untidy that way? (It concerns hundreds of posts btw.. So just editing by hand is really not an option.)
Cheers!

Re: Deleted user's quotes display username
Sadly I don't think there is anyway to change this. Although like you said if the persons name is now seen a guest then the username showing up is an issue. So just to clarify the persons account is deleted and therefore shows up as guest but when quoted it shows the username they had before their account was deleted?

Does this exactly happen after you deleted the account? I mean if someone quotes that post does it show the former username?

Re: Deleted user's quotes display username
It's very much about the posts that still remain and have been quoted in the past.
Those quoted in other users' posts show up with deleted person's old username, whereas the posts themselves are (as intended) by "Guest".
I don't think, if someone were to quote an old post of his now, that it would show with said person's old username. But I haven't tried.
I have already tried to word-censor that username and replace it with "Guest" that way, but that doesn't work for the name in the quote apparently.
edit: On a side note this also means that, if I had the word "pooptart" on my censoring list, users could very well edit that in as a fictitious user in a bogus quote.

Re: Deleted user's quotes display username
The only way to remove the username from old quoted posts would to be edit them.

Re: Deleted user's quotes display username
Okay... I have a semi-related question.
I used this advice http://forum.forumactif.com/t348385-supprimer-les-messages-d-un-membre
to create a html page with the 'delete posts' form. But can I somehow restrict access to it to only admins?
The way it works now is, if any user happens to stumble upon it, they can delete some everybody's posts altogether. Confirmed this with a test account, and it even is visible for non-registered users. Maybe I'm just overlooking something? Please tell me.

Re: Deleted user's quotes display username
Hello,
As far as I know, there isn't a way to restrict HTML pages to certain usergroups. However, I suppose a work-around to this problem would be to only create the page when you need it. When you're not using the page, you can delete it and have the code saved in some place so that you can easily recreate it when you need to.
After all, you're not going to be using the page all the time therefore you can just simply create/delete it upon usage. I hope this helps.

Yeah, okay. Thanks. I guessed it might have to be that way.
I think, you can lock this then.
