forum connection takes too long
hi, i've been using forumotion forums for more than years now and i have two forums that are running online right now. one of them, which has the link in my profile, i and my members can't connect easly. when you try to open the page - it takes about a minute or even more, and once you are logged in it gets faster until you leave it for a couple of moments without refreshing the page. if you don't do anything, it gets slow again.
i thougt it could be because of the link, so i changed it. when i did it, it was all good for almost a day. but right now the same thing keeps happening. and i feel really annoyed by it, i think my problem is kinda similar to the one that had been sumbitted by hub77 lately. but i can't use mozilla either, yet - when i open the site from a mobile device, i don't have any problems.
btw, i'm from turkey - if that causes the problem, there are many other forums like my other one, they have no "slow forum" issues.

Re: forum connection takes too long
Hi,
It did load fine for me. However we are currently processing server maintenance at this moment and therefore slow downs can be expected. We do apologize for this.

Re: forum connection takes too long
no not really, i did have a lot of codes at the beginning but than i cleaned them up, now the codes are even less than my first forum which works perfectly - and the image sizes are really not too big.
today for an hour it worked just fine, now it's slow again.

Re: forum connection takes too long
I ran a speed test on your site and i found it to be running 100% here is my finding's
as you can see the site is running fast so i think this could be down to your ISP please reset your modem and try again

Re: forum connection takes too long
thank you but this is happening to every user from Turkey do you think it could happen because of our server or sth?
Re: forum connection takes too long
could you please ask your members who is there ISP if there all the same ISP then it could be down to your ISP and not our end.
If it was down to our end then we would have more members telling us about the same problem.

Re: forum connection takes too long
So this is happening to all members from the country of Turkey?

Re: forum connection takes too long
well after reading all topics it shouldnt be a problem... but maby you have had a bad week for internet connection? etc check up your connection maby your provider had some issues that can cause this, do u know anyone else having same problems onto your forum?
Edit: (sry didnt read u said everyone from turkey in earlier post)
main reasons for forums/websites to load slow is when you etc if that page has a lot of java codes, video streams, music streams or streams of any kind really. pictures (mostly under extreme conditions)
and so on.
plugins may also slow down a llot it depends on what kind of plugins. etc widgets/banners from gametracker.com dont take up too much as they only update once a minute or so on.
but youtube videos games etc etc takes up a LOT, so u might wanna remove some of theese if you got any.
but check your bandwidth if its normal or sommething.
are you running latest java updates and general updates on your computer? try to update it.
have it been a long time since u restarted ur computer? or maby its hot? try to shut it down for a few mins then start it back up.
do you run a lot of tasks at your computer? try to close down any non-neccecary programs when youre trying to go into the forum.

Re: forum connection takes too long
hmm :S this seem very odd. so if this goes for the entire country. then i belive this is something either ith the connection from turkey.. but if that ere an alternative then you should be able to post here either...
so this is something that the server manager need to take a look at im afraid.
(unless you have checked the box that says that te website is under construction)

Re: forum connection takes too long
I will pass this on to our Pro admin as we can not find a problem with the forum it's self.

Re: forum connection takes too long
OKay have spoke to my Pro admin and she says the tech's have looked at this and have found there is nothing wrong there end. I would say it's down to the internet system you all have in turkey.
You will need to talk to them about your problems Sorry nothing else we can do from here.
Here is her post to me :

Re: forum connection takes too long
Are they doing maintenance now ? I have been in a couple of my forums just a bit ago. Things are slow loading due to tinypic.com and the posts I need to get through I can't even get to load. I have tried several times ? Please fix whatever it is so I can finish. Thank you.

tinypic.com is what hangs while the page is trying to load ? If so this would not be a problem with Forumotion, but with the image host. If you see illiweb.com hanging then it is most likely a Forumotion problem.
Just from my experience, I notice hotlinked images from tinypic sometimes take a considerable time to load.
Re: forum connection takes too long
Still taking so long to load. Now some say tinypic, some say photobucket. But the Forums I am having trouble with, I will give you the links and you can look.
The first forum is http://blamaliciouss.forumotion.com/forum and the Challenge and TotD threads are what I am having trouble loading.
The second forum is http://bagasnag.forumotion.com/forum And I am having trouble wherever I post in there. Thank you.

Re: forum connection takes too long
Yes, it's taking awhile to load the images from Photobucket. Since Photobucket is not affiliated with Forumotion you might want to contact them to ask why the images are taking long to load. You could also wait to see if it goes away as they may be doing maintenance.
Re: forum connection takes too long
Yeah a lot of images for me, aren't appearing but its only on FM.

I assume then that this is a Serving issue ? and not a Forumotion issue ?

Re: forum connection takes too long
The same problem here, forum is very slow and is not loading properly
Re: forum connection takes too long
I think its possibly a Serving issue ? My graphics are now loading ok from Photobucket so I doubt its anything to do with the forum software directly? although I could be wrong?
Re: forum connection takes too long
