Help I Cant Give Permissions

Hellow Guys,
I Am Here A New User But Using This Forums atleast from 5 months ago i didnt get any problem as my forum one time hacked also but i fixed it soon i were using it and it were not creating any time of problem but today when i try to give permission over forums so when i select all permision and click on ok so forums say that permission has been updates but when i see so my friend name iss not coming on forums so any one have any idea to fix it?? please tell me Smile

i can help you with this and also while helping you give you a tutorial if you wait for me to come home. its just an hour left then im home and we can connct to teamviewer and il help you out while ur watching and learning.

but if u want this done right now. just pm me whatever you need to be done. and il do it for you if i may borow an accounf with that access to change permissions

Can you show me where you mean your friends username is not showing so i can help you more as i am not really getting what you mean.

Please stop asking members to use pm's and contact you through something off the support forum. All support needs to be posted on the forum.

ok anyways do not post vital info in public forums.

post up some screenshots of what you do when u try to fix this by yourself. and i will see if im able to find a solution for you (u can use windows snipping tool)

but if i did this for him privately i could do screenshots while im doign it or record and also post it up here as a documented solution.

Problem:
the problem is That I Cant give moderation To My any member/user like when i select all/some forums as you can see it in some screen shoots to give user moderation so it says user permission updates but when i check permissions so they permission is empty and the user name is not showing down of forum please help me if you can understand?

Are you should that you entered the correct username at the top?

At the top of that page there should be options for groups, individual members, etc.

just i am not giving permison to all of group i am giving permision only one member , and dont say that i need to give permision to whole group because i were using user permision from many time and it working properly but i dont know why its showing this problem now:(

You will have to create a group for that one member and then set the permissions.

but how can i show his name down the forum ??? i dont want to show group name ?? are you want to say that i need to create group with his name?? :! so i have 200 members so 200 groups?

Yes, but you can made the group hidden so it will not appear in the legend section.

Try this:

AP > Users & Usergroups > Users > Search Users
Locate the username of the member you want to moderate and press the username. Then press the permission tab.

hmmm... goto index look under latest registrations see if you can find him there. otherwise ask him if he can make a new user to see if it works.

i got it , i am now giving permison by
first Open catogorize >> then tick on user name to hard but i can, but i was sad and in sadness i deleted my many catogorize ....
but i see no one can fix that problem

im very sorry for this Sad

but sometimes it cvan be hard to find users if it isnt exact same name, etc if u got a space on the end by accedent can also make it so ur not able to find em.

so therefor i dio this myself that i check latest registrations to see if i find name. then click their users and select+ copy name and paste it wherever i want it Razz

This is a well known bug. Giving permissions from users tab does not save. It used to work awhile back so I think it's a recent thing. People at the office promised to fix it monday though.
