Maybe Hacked?

I have reason to believe that someone has recently either tried or has hacked onto my forums; 
I have reason to believe that this person means to do harm to myself; and to my members.
Threatening messages have been sent to half of my members; also on our main website.

I have recently placed my forums on a Holiday
and have shut down my main website in hopes to prevent this.
However I have reason to believe they may have still were able to get in and 
possibly get all of mine, and my member's information.

I have told all of my members to;
1. Change their passwords.
2. Delete any personal information example: Bank Cards, phone numbers ect.

What can I do? How can Your admins, or anything check to insure my website was not hacked?
And that it is safe to take off of Holiday; and safe for my members?

If you haven't noticed any irregular activty, then these threats are just that; empty threats.

If you're not trusting of guests you can change the viewing permissions of forums. (General > Forums > Categories and forums > Permissions ) You can also set registrations to admin activation only. ( Users and Groups > User options > New accounts activation )

You can also ban the IP address & Email address and the member This will help as the member will get sick of making a new Email address and then leave you alone.

To ban the Email address and IP please Follow this.

ACP >> Users & Groups Tab >>
  Users >> Ban Control >> Search the members name and ban that.
Next tab is Ban An Email address:
Add the Email addresses of that member.
Next tab is the ban the ip address:
Add all the IP addresses that member may have used.

Make sure you save on each tab as you go.

Hope all this helps you on getting rid of this member.

Also I would tell your members not to post personal information on a public forum.

Thank you all for your help; Nothing against this threat has happened and i am sure if they wanted to actually do it; they would have done it by now.. I need to insure my users are safe; i made my forums view able by groups only and changed it so that admins are the only ones who can accept new users.. I am unable to ban this persons email/IP address as they where doing this all through 'Guest' Hopefully This helps and I have re opend my forums for my members. thank you very much.
