Chatbox alternative

Dear all,

I'm looking for an alternative to Chatbox and I have found these ones :

Shoutbox :

The esthetic is really not good and no multi-tabs.


Chatbox :

No possibility to use multi-tabs and this chatbox is invisible for guest users.

Cometchat (network version for forumotion) :

To expensive like 19$/month but the concept is sympa but I don't like the bar system and I have encourated some bugs like sound pop-up sound or notification sound which is apparently recurrent and the support did not find my issue...


I-tchat :

This is a widget system where you can put this one somewhere but no possibility to use multi-tabs and invisible for guest users.


So my question is:

Is there any possibility to use an Ajax chat system cause I have downloaded the sources for PHPBB3 and I bought my domain through forumotion?

If not, I would like to know if I can pass through a my SQL distance and use a kind of Ajax chat system?

However, if you have another alternative which is free or not, don't hesitate to share it.
