Solved Forum Recovery.

Post by JamesJolt November 22nd 2014, 3:09 pm

Ok so yes i saw a topic for this already but at the same time the information on that topic did not work for me. You see last night my Fourm had been hacked and almost everything was deleted. So i need help trying to figure out how to restore my form back at least 2 days, and every solved topic i saw on here about it shows the same link. and that link tells me that the directed page the link would take me too is no longer Valid. Does anyone know how i can restore it? Because it keeps saying my password is incorrect an i need to recover that password so i may restore and fix my forums problems

You can use the Founder's Tool to restore your forum to a saved backup.

And you're sure that it's the password you used when you created the forum? If you changed it on your forum, I'm sure it doesn't change as the founder's password.

I recently passed ownership down to a friend of mine, but the forum was hacked by a newer administrator, and when he tried to reset it it required the Creator info. due to me being creator he asked for my help, but it is not verifying my account info anymore.

I've reported the issue of a similar kind to our pro-admin, when I get word from her I will get back to you, unless another staff member knows what the deal is here.

Sorry.

Do you mean that you gave the founder account information to someone else?

Hello

If you gave the founder access to a friend, I am sorry to say that you are not yet the founder.
You should directly send a PM to your friend.

Thanks for your understanding

Quick Question:  Was the email address in the forum utilities changed?  Also you do not need the email address to log into the utilities.  You can use the forum's link.

Do you still have the email that you got when you created the forum?  If you do then it should give the password and email.
