Re: Counter ..at the bottom - DONE
Why can't it be placed at the bottom, as stat counters always seem to appear on other web sites/pages etc? Surely this can be done, or is it to do with the actual layout/design of this type of forum.?
I mean it's a bit in your face so to speak seeing a stat counter at the top of a page, a little like having 'Big Brother' sitting there watching you as it were.

Re: Counter ..at the bottom - DONE
I think you can, if you use a portal you can make a custom ''counter block'' with the code for your counter in it. & put it at the footer.
Admin -> Modules -> Portal Pages Management -> Structure -> Create A Custom Block.
Then - addition of personal modules -> select your just made counter box & adjust the position in the above ''map'' of the portal.

Your Location contains some URL and it's messing up the forum layout, please change this.

Re: Counter ..at the bottom - DONE
Have got it done now. Came back here to post how I did it and heres how I did it
I do agree that on the Home Page of your Forum you can only add the counter to the top of the page but if you use the portal side of the forum then things are different.
To add the counter to the bottom of the Forum you need to do the following.
To make a Module
"Admin page >> Modules >> Portal >> Portal pages management >> Structure >> Custom block"
Go to your Admin page and click on Modules, then go to Portal and then click on Portal Pages Management. In the Portal Pages List (rhs of screen) click on Structure then go to the bottom to Custom Block and create a custom block. This will enable you to name the block, just click on the radio button marked Yes to use a table type.
I used 'Site Counter' for the name of the block and 'Counter' for the Block Title. Then just add your html code in the box. I just added my code and I didn't activate the html link, that isn't needed if you have your code copied from a website. I just pasted mine into the box and then I saved it.
To add your Module
"Portal pages management >> Structure >> Addition/deletion of personal modules >> Modules >> Location >> (Footer) >> Add Module"
When done go to 'Portal pages management' and then click on 'Structure' (shown on rhs in the 'layout area' this will display all the modules you have in use at the time. Go to the bottom of the page and use the box that says Addition/deletion of personal modules. Click on 'Modules' and select the one you made, in this case it's your site counter. Then click on 'Location' and select Footer. Then just click 'Add the module' and it's added. You can then place the counter where you choose to do so.
Our own site, 6funnygirls, http://sixfunnygirls.bigforumpro.com/portal.htm, has only been up for around a week and we have had to date around 350 hits, not huge by some peoples maybe, but we are jogging along and as our site is not a normal everyday one then you'll understand why it's hard for us to use reciprocal links. We are an adult orientated site. the link here is for our forum and it wont be hard to then find where we are! We have only got a few members on our forum at present, but people are joining on a daily basis, also we have an 'in-game' profile which links to our Forum. Hence the need for a counter, we have info on that website too so we can see what we need to do to improve it.
To recap:
Admin page >> Modules >> Portal >> Portal pages management >> Structure >> Custom block (then)
"Portal pages management >> Structure >> Addition/deletion of personal modules >> Modules >> Location >> (Footer) >> Add Module"
Job Done!

Resize your page then and you'll find there's nothing wrong with my URL link. It doesn't mess the page up for me.

Re: Counter ..at the bottom - DONE
I went to this site, http://www.easy-poll.com/counters/
pick myself a choice of my free counter, get the code.
set up a custom block in Portal struction. Set at bottom and it's done.
I think Portal's right place to have a counter since it's first page people see before forum.
