Hello Can i ask do you mean the meta tag that is gave by Google, Bing, Yahoo, If yes then yes it will you need to have your own one as they will look for that tag on your forum and if its not your forum then it will not give the right data to google and other search system.

Meta tags are not a secret. They're just a way that whenever people that are searching for some subject (for instance manchester) search engines can properly organize them according to user preferences, previous visits and other things like that. If you had a meta tag FIFA it doesn't mean your forum will somehow enter in conflict with the Fifa site (or others that might contain that word).
So, don't worry, there's nothing wrong with sharing it.

Hello
The meta-description won't directly change your Google rank but a relevant meta description can increase the number of clicks on your website . It is better to have an unique meta description (duplicate content is never a good idea ). But having the same meta-description than an other website won't affect your ranking on search engines
You can read this article "Writing an effective meta-description"
Have a nice day
