Old forum containing illegal content

Hello,

I used to help out an old friend by being an admin on his forum. I no longer have contact with him or any of the other admins or moderators of the forum. The site was basically abandoned 4 to 5 years ago because there wasn't enough interest in it. I completely forgot about it until I received a couple emails yesterday saying that people are making new accounts on it. I checked out the forum and it turns out that from April 2014 to June 2014 there was a user posting illegal downloads for software and other media.

Since its been so long since I've even logged into that forum, I can't access my admin account to delete and punish this user. I am unable to reset my password there because that feature was disabled for admins. The rest of the forum admins and moderators haven't logged in since 2011 aswell.

Would it be possible for the website to be deleted? I'm not the owner of it so I'm not sure if that is something that you guys can do based on my asking. The forum content at this point probably violates the TOS, so I assume it is up for deletion.

I don't want anything to do with that forum anymore, I would rather it be deleted than being able to regain access to my account there. Any help is appreciated Smile

When's the last time the owner has signed on?

I believe the owners username was "Fro Ninja". According to the member list on the website, he last logged in on Sat Dec 10, 2011 6:32 pm

I believe you can take ownership of the website and then request for it to be deleted.

The problem is that I don't remember my password for my admin account. Attempting to reset the password gives me this message:

"The security 'Disallow admin to send new password' is active in Admin Panel > General Admin > Security"

Thank you for the link, I've read through it to see if there is anything I can do. Unfortunately I am not the founder of the website, I do not own or know of the email that was used to create the website, and I do not know the credentials for the utilities section to disable the password security for admins.

In this case I believe a staff member can help you with changing your password so that you can log in.

Thank you all for the awesome help. I got in contact with one of the forumotion staff members and was advised to open a litigation so that the forum can be reviewed and deleted.
