Setting to change # posts per page for a topic

i used to have it set to 15. but something you all changed on your end increased the #. i would like help to change it back but i cannot find the setting.
btw, this auto change also included adding some sponsored content thing to some topics for guests. that was very uncool. fortunately i found how to turn that off, but i thought the auto adding of that needed to be commented on since it was related

Go to ACP(Admin Control Panel) > General > Messages and e-mails > Configuration > Messages > Posts Per Page : and change the number as you wish.
